Charity wedding business given boost

A charity run bridal boutique has received a fantastic boost from a big-hearted former wedding planner, after he donated thousands of pounds worth of brand new wedding dresses ahead of its relaunch.

The Wedding Loft, based at Lindsey Lodge Hospice’s High Street shop in Scunthorpe received a donation of more than 20 beautiful designer dresses from Ashley Hare (24), who previously owned HBHA weddings.

Ashley said: “I started my business at just 18 after I lost my dad Kevin Hare in 2017, using the money from his legacy to me.

“Over the years my business was a great success, but I decided to move onto pastures new.

“Although I no longer work in the wedding industry, I wanted to ensure my dresses would be put to good use to make a local bride’s dream day come true.”

He added: “Every bride deserves the perfect day, however much or little they have to spend.

“My philosophy was always to give brides a fairy-tale wedding, even if they were on a very tight budget, so I know that by donating these dresses to Lindsey Lodge, they will be able to do that too.”

Lindsey Lodge Hospice Senior Manager, Business Development: Marketing and Retail Jenny Baynham said “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Ashley for his incredible support!

“By donating these beautiful dresses, he’s provided a very special gift of care to North Lincolnshire patients and their families at the Hospice, as well as helping us to give brides an opportunity to find their dream dress on a budget in our beautiful Wedding Loft.”

Lindsey’s Wedding Loft is now taking bookings for appointments.

Brides will be able to try on up to five dresses, and it is asked they bring only two people to the appointment.
