Garden gates open in aid of charity

Owned by knowledgeable gardeners, Pam and Mark Tatam, it encompasses formal and informal areas.

This includes a parterre, a sunken garden, a courtyard with rill, a walled Mediterranean garden, double herbaceous borders for late summer, lawns, pond and giant chess set, as well as a flower and grass meadow.

There is also an opportunity to take a short walk to the medieval moat, which surrounds over an acre of wild semi-woodland garden, with picnic table, benches and ‘beach’.

Garden visitors can take advantage of free seed collection and plants will also be on sale.

The garden will be open from 10am to 6pm and admission is £4 for adults, with children free.

Dogs on short leads are welcome and most of the garden is suitable for wheelchairs.

All garden visitors must pre-purchase tickets on the NGS website for a timed slot to visit Hall Farm, which can be found on the A631 east of Gainsborough, one and a half miles west of Caenby Corner.

As with all NGS open events, money raised will go to the charity’s Help Support Our Nurses campaign

Last year, the NGS raised more than £3 million for national nursing, gardening and other charitable causes.
