Maria Parker, who lives in Louth but is based at Hodgkinsons Solicitors in Skegness, is hoping to raise £500 for Cancer Research UK, and at the time of going to press she has already managed to raise over half of her target.
Maria recently developed arthritis in her feet, which has made walking five miles (10,000 steps) every day for a full month all the more challenging, but she remains dedicated to the cause.

Maria said: “I decided to do this as my beautiful and brave friend had such fantastic care in her battle against cancer.

“Her journey is amazing and encouraging for anyone facing this disease.
“Let’s help other people like my friend have the treatments needed, and research to hopefully one day rid the world of the word ‘cancer’.”
Accompanying Maria on her daily trek has been her young labradoodle, Belle, a ‘lockdown pup’ who loves to go on long walks and enjoys accompanying Maria each day.

A spokesperson for Hodgkinsons Solicitors told the Leader: “Hodgkinsons are incredibly proud to be supporting Maria on her mission, and they aim to help her to raise as much as possible. Every penny raised will go to Cancer Research UK, to help fund life-saving research in the aim of beating cancer sooner.
