New garage owner 'changing the way we think about MOTs and vehicle recovery'
A Skegness MOT centre is gearing up for a major transformation following a takeover that its new owner says will ‘change the way the UK thinks about MOTs and vehicle recovery’.
National MOT Centre Skegness, based on Victoria Road, has been handed a new lease of life after ownership passed from TK to entrepreneur Ejaz Hussain, who says the town will become the blueprint for a nationwide revolution in automotive services.
Garage manager Adam Marsh said: "I'm genuinely excited about Ejaz’s takeover and what it means for the future of our garage.
"We’ve got great plans in the pipeline, from expanding our services to investing in new technology and training for the team.

"This new chapter is all about delivering top quality work, looking after our customers, and building a business everyone in the Skegness and the expansion in Milton Keynes, Warwickshire area can be proud of.
"It’s going to be a brilliant journey, and I’m glad to be part of it."
The takeover will see a complete overhaul of how customers experience their MOT, from the moment they book to the moment they drive away. Plans now being implemented include a digital-first system offering online booking, real-time updates, transparent pricing and even live video feeds of inspections to build trust and clarity.
Waiting areas are also being upgraded, with a focus on comfort — free WiFi, refreshments and work-friendly spaces — to ensure customers can make the most of their time. “It’s about turning a chore into something people don’t dread,” they added. “We want customers to feel valued at every step.”

Behind the scenes, investment is being ploughed into cutting-edge diagnostic equipment to identify potential issues before they become costly repairs. Technicians at the centre will undergo enhanced training to act as “automotive consultants”, explaining issues in plain English and offering what the new owner calls “genuine value, not upselling”.
But the changes go further than customer service. Skegness will serve as the test bed for an ambitious 18-month expansion plan that aims to open new MOT centres in at least 15 major UK cities by early 2026. The owner says the goal is not rapid expansion for its own sake but “methodical, careful growth” that keeps quality at the heart of every branch.
“Everything we learn here in Skegness — every piece of customer feedback and every improvement — will shape how we expand,” they said. “This town is where the journey begins.”
Local benefits are also expected. The modernisation programme will create additional jobs for technicians, receptionists and drivers, and the owner believes the business will become “one of the biggest in the area” as it grows. By helping vehicles run more efficiently, they also hope to support emissions reduction and lower fuel costs for drivers. The business is currently recuiting for class 2 lorry drivers and mechanics locally with the best salaries in the area.
Early customer feedback has reportedly been “incredible”, with many surprised by how different the service already feels. Over the next few months, improvements will continue to roll out as systems are refined and staff training expands.
