Pubs in Gainsborough are getting ready to welcome back customers

The Sweyn Forkbeard in Gainsborough will be among 394 Wetherspoons set to open their beer gardens, roof top gardens and patios on Monday, April 12.

The pub in Silver Street, Gainsborough, will be open from 9am to 9pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 9am to 10pm, Friday and Saturday.

They will offer a slightly reduced menu, to include breakfast, burgers, pizza, deli deals, fish and chips and British classics. Food will be available from 9am to 8pm seven days a week.

Customers will be able to order and pay through the Wetherspoon app, however, Wetherspoon staff will be able to take orders and payment at the table from those who don’t have the app.

They will not be operating a booking system.

Customers will be able to enter the pub to gain access to the outside area and also to use the toilet.

Test and trace will be in operation and hand sanitisers will be available.

Wetherspoon chief executive, John Hutson, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming our customers and staff back to our pubs.”

Other pubs in Gainsborough and the surrounding area are also getting ready to welcome back customers.

A post on the Lincolnshire Otter in Somerby Way, Gainsborough’s, Facebook page said: “A year ago today was our last 'normal' weekend, we had just successfully launched our first Bikers breakfast weekend, our Sunday lunches were flying out and we were preparing for our mad hatters tea party

“It's been a very long year for so many of us, but life is returning to normal, and we are so excited to welcome you all back soon, and leave this horrible year behind us

The Ship Inn in Front Street, Morton said: “On April 12, we will hopefully be opening up our new outdoor beer marquee and heaters are ready to go, on May 17, we can let you back inside for beverages and food and on June 21, normality, hopefully.

"We’re super excited to get to it and can’t wait to see everyone.”
