Respected councillor and MBE re-elected to lead town body

One of Lincolnshire’s most respected and long-serving councillors has been re-appointed as chairman/mayor of Horncastle Town Council for a second year in succession.

Re-elected Mayor of Horncastle, Councillor Fiona Martin.

Coun Fiona Martin was re-elected unopposed at an historic town council meeting last Tuesday (May 12).

Because of Covid-19 restrictions, it was the first time the council has met via a website conference facility.

Coun Martin, who was awarded an MBE for her services to the community several years ago, said it was an honour to continue in the post, Coun Angela Birchall was re-elected deputy.
