Zoe swims half a mile to help young friend

Mum Zoe Clarke completed a sponsored swim at Sleaford Leisure Centre last Tuesday, raising around £850 to help a 10-year-old with cerebral palsy regain her independence. Zoe, 30, of Sleaford, who has Cerebral Palsy Spastic Diplegia, which makes it difficult for her to walk, said the swim was '˜absolutely amazing' with the support of family and friends, covering half a mile.

The money will help kit out a special bedroom for young friend Sophie Nugent, of Worthing, Surrey who also has the condition, made worse by epileptic fits.
