Huge programme of baby activities planned for Skegness, Boston and Sleaford as part of National Baby Week
Events taking place in Skegness, Boston, Sleaford and Lincoln
National Baby Week is coming to Lincolnshire this month - and local families are being invited to join in the fun.
A programme of events is set to take place from the 14 to 20 November with the theme ‘Chat, Play, Read with Me: Together We Build the Best Start’.
These will be taking place across the county, offering families a range of fun activities, as well as an opportunity to learn more about Lincolnshire’s Best Start in Life offer.
Launch events will take place on Saturday, 14 November, in Boston, Skegness, Sleaford and Lincoln. Each event runs from 10am–12pm and includes:
• A photobooth
• Indoor and outdoor activities for 0–5-year-olds based around the Chat, Play, Read With Me theme
• Sensory play
• A designated baby play area
• Baby massage taster sessions
• Refreshments
• An opportunity to meet professionals who can support you and your child on their journey to school readiness
• A fun quiz with entry into a free raffle
• A free goody bag for each family
In addition, each event has another fun session to try out:
• In Skegness and Lincoln North, we have baby signing
• In Boston Norfolk Lodge, we have Katie’s Character story sessions
• In Sleaford, we have baby yoga

Coun Natalie Oliver, Executive Councillor for Children’s Services at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “National Baby Week is the perfect opportunity to celebrate those special early years, which are such a precious time for families.
“The first 1,001 days of a child’s life are hugely important and have a life-long impact. So, we want to make sure we support our parents to make the most of this time. Those little everyday moments, like story time and meal times, really do make a difference, helping build communication skills, confidence and relationships.
“So, please do take the opportunity to visit your local family hub or children’s centre during the week to join in the fun and find out more about all we have to offer. We would love to be a part of giving your child the best start in life.”
Throughout National Baby Week every family hub and children’s centre will be providing a variety of sessions for families based around stories and songs. Here is just a taster of what to look forward to:
• That’s Not My Story sessions
• Mini photo shoots
• Introductory baby first aid sessions
• Breastfeeding sessions with baby massage tasters
• Messy play sessions
