RSPCA searching for a new home for Akita cross Loki

Paws for thought - could you give a loving home to a canine companion?

The RSPCA Sheffield branch, based in Attercliffe, is on the search for someone who can take care of its pet of the week, Loki, a black and white crossbreed.

Loki, who is in good health, has been at the animal charity since January this year and is just over a year old.

An RSPCA spokesman said he may possibly be suitable to live with other dogs but it is not known how he would behave with children.

They added: “Loki is a stunningly handsome yet super cheeky Akita cross who came to us from Derby RSPCA as, surprisingly, this amazing dog has still not found a fantastic new home.

“Full of energy and mischief, this young lad doesn’t miss a beat. He is bursting at the seams with energy and intelligence and he needs new owners who have the time to make sure that Loki is satisfied both mentally and physically. If you are an active family - Loki may be your perfect dog.”

They added: “This confident canine may possibly be suitable with another dog, he is very full on, so will need a dog who can tolerate this and help him to understand how to engage and form relationships with others of his kind.

“Loki can be quite bouncy and forward around people, so a home with children over 14 would be ideal, he still has a lot to learn and we need to help him to make great choices every time.

“Here’s a dog who never fails to make you smile and who will help you to live your life to the full, just as he likes to.”
