“We will be here all day today and we will do some night visits tonight and tomorrow morning.”

“We are dampening it down and making a tunnel round the back of the centre so the fire doesn’t spread.”

“At its peak there were 10 fire engines on site, one command support unit and one aerial ladder platform.!

“It has been a cross border incident and we have worked well with each other.”

“After two hours we got control systems in place.”

“It was a rapid attack and we are getting it under control.”

“There are three fire engines on site now.”

This is the second fire at the centre after a fire broke out in August last year which took more than a month to be completely extinguished.

Shireoaks Road is closed further notice,
