Up to £5,000 available to help West Lindsey homes prepare for flooding
Grants of up to £5,000 are still available to residents across West Lindsey to protect their homes against future flooding.
Lincolnshire County Council’s Property Flood Resilience grant is available for homes that have recently been affected by flooding and helps pay for practical measures such as flood doors, air brick covers, sump pumps and non-return valves.
Once an application is approved, £2,500 is paid up front to get works started, with the remaining amount (up to an additional £2,500) paid after the work is completed and inspected.
Coun Stephen Bunney, Chair of West Lindsey District Council’s Environment and Sustainability Working Group, said: “Nobody who has been through a flood ever wants to go through it again. This money is here to help people protect their homes, but it is not being full used.

“If your home has flooded before, please pick up the phone and ask. It costs nothing to check whether you qualify, but the fund will not stay open forever.”
When the grant opened in March 2025, it was only for properties that had been affected by flooding in January 2025. Eligibility has since been widened, meaning residents whose homes have flooded at other times may also be able to apply.
