Worksop: Group hold special ‘Zumbathon’ for breast cancer

A Worksop Zumba group has raised hundreds of pounds for breast cancer after one of its members was diagnosed.

The special ‘Zumbathon’, which had a Valentine’s theme, was held on Tuesday 10th February, with £215 raised so far.

A 30-strong group attended the session and dressed in either pink or red.

Nic said: Nic said: “We were inspired to do it as one of our ladies, who regular attends Zumba, is at the moment going through treatment for it and thought it would be a great charity to support.”

“It’s surprising how many people turn up to support these great causes and to be honest they all really enjoyed it.”

After the event, Allison Briggs posted on Facebook: “Watching Zumba in aid of Breast Cancer awareness... What a fantastic turnout!”

Nic and Kaisha Pelham who run the Zumba classes at the Innings on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week at Manton Club have also raised £200 for the local hospice through Halloween and Christmas themed Zumba events
