Even though they didn’t medal this time, it was the first time many of the members had taken to the stage and performed in front of an audience.

Secretary of the ladies chorus group Jane Smith was proud of their efforts.

“The ladies did amazingly well, especially as some of them had never performed on stage before,” Jane said.

She and husband Chris Mackintosh-Smith set up the group, which now has over 40 members and is going from strength to strength.

“Our aim for the future is just to get bigger and better,” Jane added.

Members come from all around, including Grimsby, Skegness and Market Rasen, to practice in Louth every Thrusday from 7-9.30pm.
