Balfe Motorsport ready for return to International GT Open

Balfe Motorsport makes its return to International GT Open this weekend (October 30-November 1) as Shaun Balfe and Rob Bell link up in the team’s distinctive McLaren 720S GT3 in Spain.

The pair will make their first appearance in the series since claiming the Pro-Am championship title in 2017, in a previous generation of McLaren machinery, the successful 650S GT3.

Travelling to the home of the Spanish Grand Prix, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Shaun and Rob will be under no illusion that they will be back at the sharp end of what is a competitive field, but will have dual goals of both enjoying the experience after several years away, and assessing the series ahead of a possible full-season return in 2021.

The pair will first head out on Friday, October 30, for two 60-minute free practice sessions. A day later, they will have a short 30-minute qualifying session ahead of the first race of the weekend, a 70-minute contest that afternoon. The schedule repeats on Sunday, November 1, with the second race slightly shorter at 60-minutes in length. Regular updates as well as links to free live coverage of both races will be carried across Balfe Motorsport’s social media channels across the weekend.
