The Reds travelled to Bradley on Sunday to take part in their Europa league cup final when four matches stood in the way of them and a trophy.

Wanting to finish the season with some silverware, the Louth side did just that, winning all four games and conceding just one goal along the way.

Team captain Harry Pennell led by example from start to finish with the rest of the team following his instructions and work ethic,

Idris George-Jones was crowned player of the tournament and was delighted to raise the trophy above his head in his first season with the team.

Charlie Jackson and Sam Cartwright got back to scoring ways with George-Jones also securing his first-ever hat-trick for Louth.

Vinnie Martin and Lucas Shufflebotham were outstanding up and down the flanks, and goalkeeper Layton Annison-Snowden made some great saves to keep three clean sheets.

Team coaches Karl Pennell and Mathew Snowden paid tribute to their side’s hard work.

Karl said: “We are really proud of the whole team, not forgetting the three players who missed today’s final: Charlie Hickling, Franco Cowely and Alfie Eden who each played their part in getting the team to this point.

“We would also like to thank all of the parents who continue to support us throughout and our sponsors for the season who have provided us with all of the kit and equipment we need – Thurlby Motors, DIESQUIP Engineering services, WI Smith Building Services and JA Burton Roofing.

“Without them this would not have been possible.”

The presentation evening will be held on Sunday, May 14 at the Beachcomber in Cleethorpes.
