"He came in just after Christmas (last year) for about two or three months, watched some games and players for us in Manchester," said Boryszczuk.
"We've had two or three lads who worked as spotters, who go and have a look at players we want to keep an eye on. He did that for us."
Winson began the season working alongside fellow National League North outfit Curzon Ashton and has previously scouted for Danish Superliga side Odense Boldklub OB and Norwegian club Mjendalen IF.
His duties with the Gladiators will included watching opposition teams, providing detailed reports on them and watching potential signings keeping and updating a database of these players.

“It’ll help me out immensely as, at present. I spend a lot of time going to games and having Ryan in this role will not only ease the burden but also ensure that we cover all angles so we’re best prepared for games and hopefully have the personnel we want," said Matlock manager Paul Phillips.
"Ryan has great expertise in his field and I’m delighted to welcome him to the football club”.
