Gough shines at top time trial

The event was held on a rolling B25/4 course.

Strong winds on the push out enabled Antony to reach speeds of 32mph, reducing the damage of the return leg into the headwind with a strong average of 25mph.

Antony posted a time of 53min 26secs, a personal best by 24 seconds, which placed him 63rd on the day among a field of 150 riders.

Entry to the national is an achievement in itself and finishing in the top half of the field is a testament to all of his hard work.

n In-form Shane Gowling posted 22min 23secs at the Alford Wheelers Open 10-Mile Time Trial.

The next big event is the Lincolnshire Road Riding Association 25-Mile Championships on August 21.

n Members and supporters of the Velo-One Team visited Sainsbury’s Spalding store to raise funds and increase awareness for their supported charity, JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), their adopted cause.
