The Tattershall rider suffered a crash during qualifying and completed the first race outside the points - before crashing out of the second in round four of the Pirelli National Supersport 600 championship.

Silvester fell at turn three with just 10 minutes remaining in qualifying on Saturday which resulted in him starting the first race from a sixth row grid position.

The race did not go as well as he hoped and he ended the 12-lap affair in 16th place, just outside the points.

He said: “That was not where I wanted to be this weekend.

“I struggled in this afternoons race; after the crash this morning I was just trying to stay comfortable and consistent which wasn’t quite enough to stay with the group of riders I wanted to be with.”

As race two got underway on Sunday Silvester started from the seventh row.

In an effort to catch up with the leading group he slipped off at turn one on lap four, his weekend over early.

“Oulton Park just didn’t quite work out for us this weekend,” he said. “Huge thanks again to my team and my sponsors for sticking with us, we will be back where we should be soon.”
