Finalists are named for Active Lincolnshire sport awards
Active Lincolnshire, in partnership with Lincolnshire Community Foundation, has announced the finalists for the Active Lincolnshire Sport & Physical Activity Awards 2026, celebrating the people, organisations and communities helping make the county a more active place to live.
The 27 finalists will come together on Thursday, 12th November 2026 at the Engine Shed, Lincoln, where winners across all categories will be announced and celebrated.

The annual awards recognise individuals, clubs, schools, community groups and organisations that are creating opportunities for people to be active and experience the benefits of sport and physical activity.
This year's finalists were selected by an independent panel of judges from a strong field of nominations and represent the breadth of inspiring work taking place across the county.
“These awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the people and organisations helping others to be active and improving lives across Lincolnshire,” said Emma Tatlow, Active Lincolnshire CEO.
From dedicated volunteers giving their time week after week, to coaches helping people build confidence and learn new skills, and community organisations breaking down barriers to participation, the finalists showcase the positive impact that sport and physical activity can have on people's lives.
Alongside established categories including the Active Club Award and Unsung Hero Award, two new categories have been introduced for 2026.
“We're proud to support these awards and celebrate the impact of those making a difference through sport and physical activity,” said Sue Fortune, Lincolnshire Community Foundation CEO.
The Community Champion Award will recognise an individual or group making a significant and lasting difference in their community through physical activity, while the Active Skills Award celebrates those helping people gain the skills, confidence and experience needed to participate and progress in sport and physical activity.
Across all categories, judges were impressed by nominations demonstrating how being active can improve physical and mental wellbeing, strengthen communities, build confidence and create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
The awards form part of Active Lincolnshire's ongoing commitment to championing the role of sport and physical activity in improving health, wellbeing and quality of life across the county.
Members of the public will also have the opportunity to support their favourite finalist through the return of the People's Choice Award, which was successfully introduced in 2025. Voting will open later this month, with the winner determined by public vote.
