Young go-karter Rhys Owen has enjoyed a busy but good start to the season.
Over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend he took his first podium of the year at Fulbeck Kart Club, with a very hard-fought third place.
Rhys qualified in second spot on the grid for the final after two third places in the heats and, after a great start, he led for the the first three laps before a small mistake put him back into fourth spot.
Rhys fought back to finish third, right on the bumper of the leaders.
He also passed his Arks license, which enables him to race at the top level of karting at MSA meetings.
He will return to the Fulbeck Sprint Series on Saturday.
