The club launched their new Covid Singles League... and it’s not to late to join in.

The format sees each player play two games a week, playing within current sporting guidelines.

All matches are spread out over seven days to ensure that social distancing is always the priority, meaning that a maximum of six players are at the club at any one time.

No games are being played on adjoining rinks to ensure bowlers can safely compete.

The club are supplying ample santitizers and wipes to prevent cross infection and have devised rules so that no two people touch the same piece of equipment, in accordance with Bowls England guidelines.

Initially, 16 members have entered the league which will be run throughout the summer months.

Early pacemakers are Dave Toynton and Merv Pack.

However, Bill Yuill, Trevor Dunnington and John Thorogood are in close contention.

The flexibility of the league means that other players can join at anytime, but they must now start in the bottom division.

However, it is possible to quickly rise through the leagues.

The club is always looking for new members, either those who already play the game or complete beginners.

Ladies and gents of all ages are welcome to learn more about Forbes Road.
