Kyle took the first leg and missed three-match darts in the second, and you can’t give Martin any chances as he won that and then took the next to win 2-1 after sending Rob Pomeroy packing.

Against Adam Clarke, Martin made no mistake, winning 2-0 to progress into the semi-finals.

There he met Kristian Thein, who was in good form having beaten Wayne Burles and Colin Pringle, hitting 15, 16 dart legs on the way.

In the other half of the draw, Hayley Reeson was taking on Mark Forman and, in a cracker that went to three legs, it was Hayley who held her nerve to win 2-1.

She then beat Mark Carter 2-0.

James Richards was making quite steady progress, beating Paige Williams 2-0 and then Spencer Davis 2-1 to meet Hayley in the quarter finals.

It went all the way, James edging it 2-1 to make the semis.

Pete Evans needed a good run and he got it with some good victories over Matt Reeson and Scott Smith.

George Stocks was to be his opponent, after wins over Eric Hammond and Glyn Pope, hitting a maximum on the way.

In a tense final leg, with both players missing doubles, it was to be Pete that got the winning double to move into the semi-0finals.

The first semi, between Kristian and Martin was a good close game with Kristian booking his final spot.

James Richards and Pete Evans also took their match all the way, Pete holding his nerve to win 2-1.

In a cracking final with high scores a plenty it was to be Kristian that came out the deserved winner.

He had thrown solid darts all night and got his just desserts.

Richard Robinson has booked his place in the Winstanley showpiece.

Last Friday’s qualifier, held at the Liberal Club, was a last-man standing contest.

A quality field of 31 players lined up to draw their numbers with Kristian Thein getting number 31, instantly making him the hot favourite.

First out the hat was Hayley Reeson and second out was her husband Matt.

Hayley won to secure a point and the bragging rights, before being defeated by Scott Smith.

Scott beat Mark Carter before finding Mark Forman too good for him.

Martin Bell stopped Forman but was knocked out by Mark Simpson, whose night was ended by Pete Evans.

Glyn Pope beat Evans and James Richards but succumbed to Braydon Wyeth, who won another five contests.

His run was ended by Joby Booth, who was also a tough man to shift as he went on an 11-game rampage, including a 13 dart leg and a 115 finish.

Mark Williams got the better of him before losing to Scott Sutton, who wa sbeaten by Richard Robinson.

His final match was against Thein, who was down to the double way before Robbo.

But he could not find that elusive double as Robbinson secured his place In Team Deano.

The final qualifier will be at the Liberal Club on January
5.
