Sleaford Golf Club: Phil fires ace in men's stableford

Tom Forman won the men’s April stableford with a score of 42 points in a competition which saw Phil Taylor score a hole-in-one on the 15th hole, while the seniors stableford was won by Dave Boyfield, also with 42 points.

The ladies’ Trafford Trophy, for Silver Division players, was won by ladies’ captain Ann Lyon with 40 points, and the Slee Trophy, played on the same day for Bronze Division players, went to Fiona Pickering.

Carol Brinkworth won the ladies’ stableford with a score of 34 points.

* The Sleaford C team lost five out of six matches at Boston Golf Club with team captain John Marriott and his partner Matt Nightingale claiming the consolation point.

The seniors had mixed fortunes in their two matches, running out comfortable 6-2 winners at home to Newark before losing out on their travels three days later 5-3 to a strong Stoke Rochford team.

The ladies’ team, meanwhile, lost a mixed handicap friendly match against a much stronger Blankney team 4-0, before slipping to a three-and-a-half to half defeat in their first Handicap League match at Boston.
