Taekwondo club members show their skills

Seventeen members of Boston Taekwondo Club travelled to the Nottingham Wildcats Arena to compete in the 2016 National Poomsae Championships.

Poomsae competition demonstrates the art of delivering set patterns of defensive and attacking movements with immense skill and accuracy.

The club were extremely proud of all 17 competitors, but special congratulations are owed to Simon Newby, gold medallist in group and second senior male K1 for the second year running; Matthew Petley, gold in group in the senior male K2; Zack Newby, silver medallist in group cadet K1 and Claire Petley, bronze medallist in group senior female K2.

Together Claire and Matthew Petley won a silver medal in the senior pairs’ K2 group.

Alan Steeper, Kimberley Stancer, Sheila Jackson, Faye Louch, Kate Richardson, Chris Purkiss, Max Louch, Adam Jackson, Makenzie Stancer, Kaci Chase, Adele Dow, Jenna Chase and Sam Burrows also competed.
