Alford Manor House opens for season

Alford Manor House and Museum of Rural Life has reopened for the new season.

Reputedly the largest thatched manor house in the country, Alford Manor House was built to a traditional H plan in 1611.

The house, tea rooms and gardens are all open to visitors.

The Museum of Rural Life is located behind the Manor House and is home to many of the town’s historic artefacts.

    Until April 5, opening times are Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am to 4pm.

    From April 6 to July 26, opening is extended to Tuesday to Friday 10am to 4pm and Sunday noon to 4pm, then extending again to include Mondays through the summer and bank holiday Saturdays.
