They slipped to 11th place in the Northern Premier League Midlands table after missing the chance to salvage a draw.

The visitors had led at the interval through Brad Wilson, who struck after the home side had failed to clear a corner.

Harry Limb returned from injury and levelled early in the second half with a sumptuous shot from distance after coming on as a sub.

Wilson then restored Basford's lead after 73 minutes but the Poachers spurned that golden chance to equalise again after Ted Gibbons was fouled in the box with less than 10 minutes to go.

Mark Yates was Basford's hero as he pulled off a spectacular save to keep it at 2-2.

Boston Town now have a two-week gap before their next fixture away at Grantham Town on Saturday, 31st October.
