Care home host's community ladies morning
Residents at Braeburn Lodge Care Home in Deeping St James recently enjoyed a lively community ladies morning, welcoming several local organisations for a celebration of friendship and local heritage.

The event saw a diverse range of guests join residents for refreshments and conversation, including members from the St. Guthlac’s Ladies Guild, the Deepings Bowls Club Ladies, and professional representatives from WP Legal and Anglian Water.
The visiting groups shared stories about their respective histories and the ongoing work they do to support the Deepings community today.

The morning provided a wonderful opportunity for cross-generational connection, with residents and visitors alike discussing their experiences of living and working in the local area.
Jane Lee, General Manager at Braeburn Lodge, said: “It has been a truly wonderful morning. Bringing together such a fantastic group of women from across our community—ranging from long-standing social guilds to local professional sectors—is exactly what community spirit is about.
It was a pleasure to hear about the vital roles the St. Guthlac’s Ladies Guild and the Bowls Club play in our social fabric, and to welcome our friends from WP Legal and Anglian Water.
Our residents have thoroughly enjoyed the company and the opportunity to share their own experiences.
Resident Gill commented: “It is lovely to have such a busy morning with so many interesting people. Seeing women represented in careers like law and at Anglian Water is a wonderful change from when I was younger, and it’s heartening to see our local clubs and guilds still going strong. Having the community come into our home like this makes for a very special day.
Braeburn Lodge, operated by Barchester Healthcare, provides residential, nursing, and dementia care for the local community and is committed to maintaining strong ties with local groups and businesses.
