Last day to bid on Bomber charity auction supporting Lincolnshire’s aviation heritage
Nationwide auction specialist, John Pye Auctions, is hosting an online charity auction to raise money to support the award-winning visitor attraction “On Freedom’s Wings” in Lincolnshire.

On Freedom’s Wings is a life-sized steel sculpture of a Lancaster Bomber. The project in ‘Bomber County’ in Lincolnshire has been a truly inspiring feat of engineering designed by BSP Consulting and has touched hearts around the world.
The Bomber County Gateway Trust is the volunteer organisation behind the auction. It is raising money for the ongoing development of the site and to make the installation more visitor friendly.

On Freedom’s Wings is the result of eight years of collaboration, fundraising and ambition to honour the Royal Air Force crews of World War II and a tribute to mark the historic link that Lincolnshire shared with RAF Bomber Command during the Second World War.
The project has been the result of many people devoting their time, expertise, and energy to move it forward through each stage, resulting in a unique and iconic installation that will attract visitors for decades to come.
Lots on offer include a bronze cow sculpture worth over £3,000, a painting from local artist Tim O’Brian, miniature metal versions of On Freedom’s Wings, plus wooden versions made by local Men in Sheds, a Lancaster flight simulation at RAF Conningsby, tickets to England vs Australia Rugby and many others.
Charlie White, Chairman of the Bomber County Gateway Trust explains in more detail in the video:

The auction is live until Thursday 16th July at 7pm.
