His goals allowed the Poachers to continue their dream start to life at Step 4 as they made it two wins out two.

Chris Funnell’s side made a fast start in their first ever home game in the Northern Premier League and forced several early corners.

Cheered on by a healthy crowd of 210 at the Mortgages For You Stadium, Boston carved out numerous early chances, with the unlucky Jordan Tate being denied by the woodwork.

Loughborough, managed by former Ipswich Town Premier League star Jamie Clapham, were fielding a much-changed side from last season – and their young team looked uncertain in the early stages, especially at the back.

Limb deservedly broke the deadlock after Zak Munton was hauled back in the area when bearing down on goal after 24 minutes.

The only surprise was that visiting defender Jozef Baxter got away with a yellow card.

A Noah Halford header from a free-kick levelled things up early in the second half as the students got to grips with the hard surface.

But the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Baxter was shown a second yellow for another foul.

Despite their numerical advantage, Boston struggled to regain the ascendancy they had enjoyed before the break.

If anything, it was against the run of play when they retook the lead with seven minutes left.

Limb was nerveless with his second penalty after Matt Cotton was clipped in the area.

The Poachers have now stretched their winning run to a remarkable 13 straight victories, a sequence that started back in February.

Ted Gibbons was named man of the match by match day sponsor First Rate Flat Roofing after a storming display at right back.

Boston Town now find themselves in fourth place in the early Pitching In Norther Premier League Midlands Division table.

POACHERS: Edwards, Gibbons, Smith (Houlston), Tate, Ford, Ging, Bayliss (Graves), Burdass (Archer), Limb (Wilson), Cotton, Munton (Siddons).
