Shrek The Musical brings big laughs and fairytale magic to Blackfriars Theatre
Blackfriars Theatre in Boston is set to be transformed into a swamp this April as BOS Musical Theatre Group brings the much-loved Shrek The Musical to the stage. Running from Saturday 18th to Saturday 25th April, the production promises a colourful, high-energy experience packed with toe-tapping songs, lively choreography and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments for audiences of all ages.
Based on the hugely popular film, the story follows Shrek, a reluctant ogre whose quiet life is turned upside down when a host of fairytale characters invade his swamp. Alongside his loyal companion Donkey, Shrek sets out on a journey that leads him to Princess Fiona, unexpected friendships and a lesson in embracing what makes us unique.

The production features a full cast of local performers and is brought to life by BOS Musical Theatre Group, known for their vibrant productions and strong community spirit. With a mix of humour, heart and spectacle, the show is expected to be a highlight of the spring season.
Performances take place at Blackfriars Theatre & Arts Centre on Saturday April 18 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm, Sunday April 19 at 3pm (Relaxed Performance), Wednesday 22nd to Friday 24th April at 7.30pm, and Saturday April 25 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

The relaxed performance on Sunday April 19 has been specially adapted to create a more accessible environment, with adjustments including reduced sound levels, gentle lighting and a BSL interpreter, ensuring the show can be enjoyed by as many people as possible.
Tickets are priced at £19.50 for adults, £17 for under 16s, and £68 for a family ticket (two adults and two children).
Tickets for Shrek The Musical are available now via the Blackfriars box office or website.
