Giant Easter eggs arrive at Belvoir Castle in time for the ‘Ultimate Easter Day Out’

Giant Easter Eggs are popping up in the Adventure Playground and daffodils are poking their heads out of the soil, as Belvoir Castle prepares to open its doors for the season ahead of the Easter holidays. The resident farmyard animals are also set to return to the popular Animal Park, ready to meet visitors and make new friends.
Belvoir Castle will open its doors to the public on the 19 March for visitors to come and experience its history and marvel at the incredible artwork inside. The grounds and gardens will open on the 16 March. Located in the heart of the East Midlands, Belvoir Castle sits overlooking the scenic Vale of Belvoir. Its iconic regency architecture, which has been featured in TV and film, holds a wealth of history and grandeur.
Surrounding the Castle are beautiful gardens, including the Rose Garden which is home to a thousand varieties of roses, and vast grounds where visitors can find an extensive Adventure Playground, as well as magical walking routes featuring hidden grottos and follies, perfect for a sunny adventure with the family.
From the 30 March to the 19 April, little ones will have the chance to explore the Adventure Playground and discover a trail left behind by the Easter Bunny. The beautifully painted Easter Eggs form a trail through the playground and surrounding trees, encouraging children to find them all and solve the riddles.

New for this Easter, each beautifully illustrated egg shows woodland creatures painting, planting, stacking eggs and getting into a little mischief. The Easter Eggs bring a touch of whimsical magic to a school holiday trip to Belvoir.
Eleanor Melville, marketing manager at Belvoir Castle said: “We’re very excited to welcome families back to Belvoir this Easter. Whether you’re interested in discovering the history of the Castle or want to run around and explore the vast grounds, there is something here for everyone.
“We’re particularly excited to launch our new Ultimate Easter Day Out, where children can find the giant eggs hidden in and around the Adventure Playground. The Easter Eggs are incredible and will bring so much joy to the families discovering them.”
The popular Animal Park will also open every day throughout the school Easter holidays (30 March – 29 April), with a host of sheep, donkeys, goats and calves returning. Children will have the opportunity to meet smaller animals first hand in the petting corner and lean about all their different stories. On Saturday 4 April, Tinkerbell’s Perfect Pony Party will be offering pony rides for children up to 10 years old.

After a day enjoying the Castle and romping around in the grounds, the Belvoir Retail Village will be open to offer a tranquil setting for a bite to eat or a mooch around the shops. Open seven days a week, Belvoir Retail Village is a thriving shopping and dining hub, sitting at the foot of Belvoir Castle. The retail destination offers artisan shopping in the heart of the stunning Vale of Belvoir and celebrates local food and the best of country living. Restored from working estate buildings, it is home to the latest fashions and accessories from homewares, crafts and toys as well as a range of seasonal produce from the Belvoir Estate available in the Farm Shop.
Pony ride tickets cost only £5 per ride and tickets for the Adventure Playground and Ultimate Easter Day Out start from £6 for children. All tickets for the Castle, Gardens, Grounds and Animal Park can be purchased on the Belvoir Castle website belvoircastle.com
