Ladies '˜tea' off at charity cake off fundraiser

The event was held in aid of the Ladies’ Captain, Helen Grinham, nominated charity of the year - the Eve Appeal.

The event proved very successful, with around £550 being raised for the charity, , which funds research into and gives to those with the five gynaecological cancers.

A fashion show started the proceedings, with members modelling outfits provided by Joel Cant the MRGC Golf Professional, who stocks an array of ladies golfing clothing.

The marquee was filled with 91 visitors who enjoyed an afternoon tea then sampled the cakes and biscuits entered in the Cake Off competition.

The varied selection of home baked cakes made the task of picking the winners difficult for judges Miriam Hunter, Bob Boulton and Richard Holmes.

Sponsor of the event was Richard Walker of St James Wealth Management, who provided a glass of Prosecco for each guest and the prizes for the winner.

Aprons, hand made by the Ladies section, were also presented to the winners by club president Richard Holmes.
