Keen fundraiser to have head shaved for charity as she battles cancer
A Louth area woman undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment for cancer is due to shave all her hair off for charity.
Jean Grosset has made the personal choice to have her head shaved to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity that provides vital support to people affected by cancer.
By taking on this challenge, Jean hopes to make a difference and raise money for a worthwhile cause, helping others who are facing similar challenges to herself.
She said: “I’ve already had a major operation and that was successful, but the chemotherapy I am going to have will cause my hair to fall out.

"I am a big fundraiser. I was shortlisted for the BBC’s Make a Difference awards earlier this year and so I thought to myself why lose my hair for nothing? So I decided on a head shave for Macmillan.”
Jean added: “If I can reach out so many more people get helped by this worthy cause then losing my hair is all worthwhile.”
The big shave event will be held at 7pm on Friday, November 13 at The Royal Oak in Holton le Clay.
She said the community-minded pub has been fantastic in supporting her all the way.
You can show your support for Jean by donating whatever you can through her Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/page/jeansheadshave.
Jean says: “Every penny counts and will help Macmillan continue their amazing work supporting people and families affected by cancer.”
So far she has collected £120 in pledges via the page.
