The Academy is now working closely with all students to help ensure they are able to take their next step, be that university, college or an apprenticeship. That includes considering appeals for students where it is appropriate, in line with the Government guidelines.

James Myhill-Johnson, Principal of King Edward VI Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust said: “I am enormously proud of this group of students, the majority of whom I have seen develop and grow into outstanding young people over the last seven years here at KEVI.

"The sheer drive and determination of each individual to give of their best, even during these most unprecedented of times has enabled them to achieve a smashing set of results. They epitomise what it means to be members of #TEAMKEVI.

"As well as the students I would like to pay tribute to all staff members whose hard work and dedication across the last two years has ensured that once again our 6th form students leave with qualifications which ensure they can go onto the next stage of their lives, be that further education, training or employment.“

Stuart Burns, Chief Executive of the David Ross Education Trust said: “Today is a great opportunity to celebrate the leadership and academic ambition of our Year 13 students, who have shown great resilience during these challenging times and with whom we will maintain a strong bond, providing support and advice as they take their next steps into further study and employment.

“We’ve seen some stunning results today from our students – including Jessica, Kizzy, James and Sam - and they clearly all have very bright futures ahead of them.

“We are incredibly proud of all of our students today, but I’d also like to put on record my thanks to our staff. Their unstinting hard work and commitment to our students throughout these challenges has been humbling, and their efforts are helping our commitment of providing a world-class education become a reality at King Edward VI Academy.”
