The scheme works by supporting local community groups with a donation raised through members shopping at their Co-op store, staff fundraising, the carrier bag levy and collection boxes.

Elizabeth Webster, support staff at Chesnut CofE Primary School, said: “We were very pleased when we learnt that we had been successful as our local Co-op store already supports the school and has been helpful with the Garden Club.”
