GCSE results: Skegness Academy 'couldn't have asked more' of Year 11

Todd Johnson, reflecting of the achievements of his Year 11, said: “Our pupils have done remarkably well and we, as an Academy, are incredibly proud of their achievements.

“I couldn’t have asked for a more dedicated group of pupils, parents and staff and wish to thank them for their hard work – these results are a testament to their combined efforts and drive to succeed.

“I am excited to see our pupils progress onto the next stage of their learning – both through apprenticeships and Sixth Form with us at Skegness Academy, and wish them every success for the future.”

The Academy, sponsored by Greenwood Academies Trust, celebrated their GCSE results along with other schools on Thursday..

While BTEC’s are still to be awarded, the Academy is pleased with individual success stories.

The top performing pupil, Peter Shelley, achieved 9s in biology, physics chemistry and maths and an 8 in English

Tilly Shaw, with 9s in biology, physics and chemistry; 8s in English, English literature and history and a 7 in maths

Ellie Cowen performed exceptionally well in all three sciences, achieving 8s in chemistry, physics and biology

Jacob Whenman, who achieved 9s in RE and English literature; an 8 in English and 7s in biology, chemistry and maths
