TEN YEARS AGO: Halton Holegate pupils back shoebox appeal
Pupils at Halton Holegate CofE Primary School had donated 36 fun-filled boxes to the Samaritans ‘Purse Box’ appeal 10 years ago.
The boxes would be distributed by churches in deprived countries in time for Christmas. Each box contained toys, educational tools and hygiene items.
