Polar Express 'experience' on offer at church festive fair
Great Hale Parish Church is holding a Polar Express ‘experience’ at their Christmas Fair.
The event on on Saturday, November 22 will be open from 11am to 3pm and will feature craft, toy and cake stalls, tombola and games, with cakes and refreshments including turkey, stuffing and cranberry baps served from 12noon with a glass of mulled wine.

The main attraction is timely as this season marks the 20th anniversary of the hit festive film, The Polar Express, directed by Robert Zemeckis.
The ‘conductor’ will welcome youngsters and families aboard the railway carriage, where you can enjoy a drink of hot chocolate as the story unfolds, post your letter to Santa, look out over snow-capped mountains, see the Northern Lights, meet Mrs Claus in her kitchen, and visit Santa at his toy workshop.
The sleigh bell only rings for true believers, so will it ring for you?
Round trip tickets are £2.50 each and boarding times are 11am-3pm on Saturday November 22, 10am-12noon on Sunday November 23, and 6-8pm on Monday November 24.
Booking is required, call Nick Hewitt on 07393 447841.
Local schools have also been invited to exhibit displays.
