Away Resorts, owners of Tattershall Lakes Country Park, claim the funding is the biggest single investment planned for any UK holiday park in 2016.

The company says the changes - including new caravans and lodges - will completely transform the park, attracting even more visitors to boost the area’s economy.

Tattershall Lakes general manager, Dean Poppy, said: “The multi million pound investment has enabled us to develop contemporary facilities and activities for 2016 that match changing consumer trends and will help us to stand out in the British holiday market.

“New jobs will be created as a result of the investment programme, both on a permanent basis and seasonal, plus many elements of the construction will be carried out by local businesses.

“Our aim is to increase the number of guest visits, which will bring more business to attractions and shops in the area.”

Developments include:

○Enlarged indoor entertainment area with a newly extended bar/diner renamed ‘The Spitfire’

○‘The Propeller Bar’ will gain a balcony and lift

○The Guest Services office will be greatly enlarged, with additional parking

○A new larger shop will be available

○New facilities will be introduced: adventure golf, an indoor activity marquee, large outdoor covered play area, toddlers play area, outdoor wet play area with slide and extended beach area with more seating

○New caravans and lodges

○Improved dining options for guests, including half board

There will also be various shows celebrating the music and fashions from the 60s through to the 80s.

One of the shows will feature songs from the biggest bands of the 60s and will include ‘live’ performances by musicians and dancers.

Other new attractions include land zorbing, a craze that involves climbing into a massive plastic bubble and rolling along the ground, bouncing off other zorbs.

The park already boasts a number of leisure and sporting facilities, including an indoor swimming pool. Guests will be able to benefit from advanced full-face snorkelling masks that will enable swimmers to breath through their nose as well as their mouth as naturally as on land.

Staff have been kitted out with bright new uniforms so guests will always be able to get help when needed. Newly available park-wide Wi-Fi will be another addition.

Mr Poppy added: “There are lots of new things to excite children, including character and puppet theatre shows, storytelling and enchanted laser tag.”

Popular events like the ‘Cream Pie Fight’ and Rock the Lakes concert will be back in 2016.
