Co-op staff are going orange for the MS Society

Colleagues at Lincolnshire Co-op will be making some questionable fashion choices as they have a makeover for the MS Society, its charity partner, as they take part in Orange Friday.

On Friday, April 29, staff members including those in food stores, pharmacies, post offices and travel branches across the Society’s trading area, will be taking part and turning orange for the day, the MS Society’s signature colour.

They’ll be painting their faces, getting dolled up in fancy dress and might even slap on a bit of fake tan.

Community Engagement Manager, Sam Turner, said: “We’ll be putting the fun in fundraising and encouraging our customers to dig deep for this brilliant cause.

“They can drop by their local store to visit cake sales and take part in loads of fun activities and competitions, all to help the MS Society to help local people with this debilitating condition.”

Outlets will be offering customers the opportunity to win one of three fabulous prizes with a quiz sheet, which is available for a donation of just £1.

It will feature anagrams which entrants will have to unscramble for the chance to win big.

All correct completed entries will go into a draw to win an iPad mini with an orange case, £50 in Lincolnshire Co-op vouchers or a hamper of foodie goodies.

Area Fundraiser for the MS Society, Caroline Kew, said: “I’m really excited about Lincolnshire Co-op’s plans for an Orange Friday event and have high hopes that it will raise lots of money as well as awareness of the support that the MS Society Grants Programme gives to people affected by MS in Lincolnshire”

To date, Lincolnshire Co-op has raised almost £10,000 for the MS Society.
