The services twitter feed reported that at 2.15pm, the Donington crew attended the incident where they helped the four-year-old Flynn out and said he was ‘now happy back with his owner’.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said the horse had reportedly bolted, throwing the rider and ending up in the ditch.

They said he was unhurt however and crews used small tools to flatten the grass around the horse and helped him stand and walk out.

The spokesman said the rescue only took a short time to occur.

No location was reported for the incident and the rider was reported to be okay.
