572 incidents of drunken behaviour reported to police in Boston in less than four years
More than 500 incidents of drunken behaviour in a town have been reported to the police in less than four years.
The number of incidents of anti-social drunken behaviour in Boston have increased from 132 in 2023 to 156 in 2025, according to Lincolnshire Police.
There have been 105 incidents of anti-social drunken behaviour between January and August this year, according to the force.
This means that there have been 572 incidents of drunken anti-social behaviour in Boston between January 2023 and August this year.

The force said that the problems were concentrated in town centre hotspots, including Market Place, Red Lion Street, Central Park and West Street/bus station.
Boston Borough Council is considering extending a public space protection order (PSPO) for a further three years in a bid to tackle the issue.
Peter Hunn, community safety manager at the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership, said the “highest levels” of drunken behaviour and street drinking reported to the police were still in the town centre, compared to other parts of the borough.
The PSPO covers Boston town centre and is due to expire on January 11. It has been in place since 2015 and aims to restrict drinking in the town centre.

The council is planning to extend it until January 2030 to tackle the issue.
Speaking at an overview and scrutiny committee meeting on Thursday, November 5, Coun Anton Dani (Independent – Fenside) supported the proposed extension, saying it provides an “assurance”.
He said: “It does give a good image for Boston. It’s much cleaner, it’s much easier to walk in. People are behaving.”
Members recommended the PSPO should be extended for a further three years and a final decision will be made at a later date. It was also recommended that a £100 fine for breaching the order remains in place.
