  • Two counts of domestic burglary with intent to steal
  • Four counts of non-domestic burglary – theft
  • Two counts of theft from a shop
  • One count of possession of cannabis/cannabis resin – a Class B drug

Smith pleaded guilty to all charges, Lincolnshire Police said.

The court was told Smith entered, as a trespasser, with intent to steal, from a property in Fydell Crescent (twice) and The New England Hotel, in Wide Bargate.

The court was also told he entered – again as a trespasser – Pilgrims Local, in Market Place, where he stole cash, vapes, cigarettes to the value of £4,150.

Police said he committed the same offence at: Bulgarian Foods, in Market Place, stealing cash to the value of £95; at Surveillance & Security Systems, in Horncastle Road, taking two doorbells and a chimer to the value of £340; and at Shepherds Bakery, in Wide Bargate, stealing cash of an unknown value.

The thefts were committed at Morrisons, in Wide Bargate (bottles of Jack Daniels whiskey to the value of £180) and TK Maxx, in Horncastle Road (a handbag and three purses of unknown value).

Of the outcome, Insp Ian Cotton, of Boston Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This offender showed a clear pattern of persistent criminal behaviour, but through close partnership working and the support of members of the public who provided key information, our CID colleagues were able to put him before the courts to hold him accountable.

“We recognise the impact these incidents had on the local community. The public’s willingness to report information through the correct channels was instrumental in enabling us to focus our resources effectively, ensuring the community received the right support when they needed it most. I thank everyone who assisted in this investigation.”
