Nathan Nuttall, 20, of Jameson Bridge Street, Market Rasen, has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to an assault charge, Lincoln Magistrates’ Court heard on January 6.

The court was told how Nuttall admitted assaulting a man by beating him.

The incident happened in George Street, Market Rasen on October 4 last year, the court heard.

Nuttall has been handed a community order.

The court heard how he must carry out 200 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

This will be supervised by a responsible officer.

Nuttall has been ordered to pay £500 compensation and £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

The defendant’s guilty plea was taken into account during sentencing, the court was told.

Humraaj Athwal

Humraaj Athwal, 38, of Messingham Lane, Scawby, has appeared at Scunthorpe Magistrates’ Court charged with two assaults.

On January 7, Mr Athwal appeared in the dock accused of two counts of assault by beating.

The court heard how Mr Athwal pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Both charges involve alleged assaults against a woman in Scawby on May 28 last year, the court was 
told.

Each charge involves a different woman, the court heard.

Mr Athwal has been given unconditional bail until his trial.

This is due to take place at Scunthorpe Magistrates’ Court next month, on February 26.

The court case has now been adjourned until this date.

Daniel Carson

Daniel Carson, 23, of Coronation Road, Market Rasen, has been sentenced after being found guilty of ABH, Lincoln Magistrates’ Court heard on January 
11.

The court was told how Carson had pleaded not guilty to assaulting Mark Schofield, thereby occasioning him, actual bodily harm.

The offence happened in Market Rasen on January 19, 2014.

The court heard how Carson went on trial - and was found guilty by magistrates.

The court was told how one punch caused a fracture to the victim, requiring three operations.

Carson was committed to prison for five months, suspended for one year, the court heard.

He has been ordered to pay £2,000 compensation, the court was told.

He must also pay £620 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service as well as an £80 fine.

Cain Barratt

Cain Barratt, 20, of Park View, South View Avenue, Brigg, has admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order, Scunthorpe Magistrates’ Court heard on January 
13.

The court was told how Barratt failed to attend appointments, as instructed, on November 12 and 26 last year, and failed to provide evidence for the failure within a specified time.

The court heard how the conditions of Barratt’s original community order have now been varied.

He must comply with any instructions of his responsible officer to attend appointments or to participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer, up to a maximum of five days.

Barratt’s original drug rehabilitation requirement will continue, the court was told.

He was not ordered to pay any costs.

Sean Brittain

Sean Brittain, 35, of Silver Street, Barnetby, has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to an offence under the Social Security Administration Act, Scunthorpe Magistrates’ Court heard on January 
14.

The court was told how Brittain dishonestly failed to promptly notify the Department for Work and Pensions of a change of circumstances - that he was no longer incapable of work - which he knew would affect his entitlement to Employment Support Allowance.

The offence happened in Barnetby between March 28, 2014 and November 13, 2014, the court was told.

Brittain has been handed a community order, the court heard.

He must carry out 180 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

This work will be supervised by a responsible officer.

The court was told Brittain has been ordered to pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He must also pay a £60 victim surcharge.

Brent Yin Beswick

Brent Yin Beswick, 31, of Garden Street, Brigg, has been charged with two motoring offences, Scunthorpe Magistrates’ Court heard on January 14.

The court heard how Mr Beswick has been accused of driving a Vauxhall Corsa on the A18 Mortal Ash Hill, Scunthorpe, while he was disqualified from driving, on November 11, last year.

He is also accused using a Vauxhall Corsa on the A18 Mortal Ash Hill, Scunthorpe, without any insurance on November 11 last year, the court heard.

He has not yet entered a plea for either of the charges, the court was told.

The case has been adjourned until February 
1.
