Tyres and and wheels stolen from agricultural sales firm in Sleaford

Thieves have made off with tyres and wheels from a farm machinery sales firm worth £8,000.

According to Sleaford police the 14 tyres and two wheels to be fitted on telehandler forklifts were taken from CLAAS Eastern of London Road in Sleaford between 5pm on Tuesday and midday on Wednesday last week.

Sales manager Tim Smith said: “They cut a hole in the wire security fencing and wheeled them out and down the road into a large van.

“They were telehandler tyres - about 3ft tall and worth about £8,000 in total. Now we have to replace the stock as they were almost ready to go on machines, which is another cost to the business we don’t need at this time of year.”

The firm would be reviewing it security arrangements.
