Easter news and council business

Parish council - The date for the next parish council meeting has had to be changed as it clashes with the Easter bank holiday weekend.

It will now be held in the village hall on Wednesday, March 30, at 7.20pm, beginning with a 10-minute session for members of the public to raise matters of interest and concern.

The council meeting formally opens at 7.30pm.

Annual service - Asterby Group’s annual Good Friday open air service at Red Hill takes place on March 25, when everyone is invited to join the crowds for the annual procession of the crosses.

The processions starts at 10am from the bottom of the hill.

Anyone who would like to carry a cross can contact Ann South or Sarah Hamp on 01507 343270.

The service will be taken by the Rev Avril Ford, with the address by the Rev Pam Fraser, vicar of the Asterby and Hemingby Group of Parishes.

Music to accompany the singing of the hymns will be provided by the Horncastle Banovallum Band.

After the service, all are welcome to call at The Workshop at the bottom of the hill, where tea, coffee and cake will be available.

All proceeds will be for All Saints’ Church, Goulceby.

Easter prize bingo - There will be prizes for adults and children at an Easter prize bingo evening in the village hall tomorrow.

Doors open at 7pm, for eyes down at 7.30pm.
