Fire crews investigate 'large' house fire in Skegness
Five fire crews were called to a house blaze in Skegness yesterday (Thursday, September 10) – which gutted the roof and damaged the entire home.
Residents in the area were asked to close their windows and doors due to the smoke from what Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue called “a large incident”.
"We were called out at 3:49pm to a fire in a detached house on Ocean Avenue in Skegness,” a service spokesperson said.
“Five crews attended, along with our aerial ladder platform to extinguish the fire using hose reel jets, a main jet, thermal imaging cameras and ladders.
"There was severe fire damage to most of the roof space, with further damage to some of the first floor including a balcony. The whole property suffered smoke and water damage.”
The fire service has now launched an investigation today (September 11) into the cause of the blaze.
