New Woodhall Spa In Bloom project wins support of luxury holiday venue

A growing community-led initiative in Woodhall Spa has gained the backing of a popular holiday retreat.

Woodhall Spa In Bloom, a not-for-profit project run by volunteers, was launched earlier this year with the aim of brightening up the village through planting, environmental care and stronger community collaboration.

In just over a month, the project has grown from an idea into a structured entity, with more than 30 volunteers already signed up.

Its success is being made possible by the support of local businesses and organisations who truly care about Woodhall.

Their generosity is helping to enhance public spaces, support the volunteers and bring people together to celebrate everything that makes the former spa town so attractive.

Now a major milestone in the project has been achieved because luxury venue, Bainland Lodge Retreats, has thrown its support behind Woodhall Spa In Bloom.

Its backing significantly strengthens the initiative as it prepares to enter this year’s East Midlands In Bloom competition, with longer-term ambitions of progressing to Britain In Bloom.

Bainland Lodge Retreats, located just outside Woodhall Spa, is widely recognised for its high-quality visitor-experience, ongoing investment in the local economy and commitment to sustainability.

The decision to support Woodhall Spa In Bloom reflects confidence in the project’s vision and its potential to make a lasting impact on the village.

David Charles, treasurer of Woodhall Spa In Bloom, said: “Having Bainland Lodge Retreats backing the project is a huge boost for us.

"It shows that respected local businesses believe in what we’re building. This isn’t just about planting flowers. It’s also about community pride and creating something lasting for residents and visitors alike.”

A spokesperson for Bainland Lodge Retreats said: “Woodhall Spa is a unique and special place. Supporting Woodhall Spa in Bloom is a natural fit for us because it reflects the pride, care and quality that define the area.

"We’re delighted to play a part in helping the village look its best and in supporting such a positive, community-led initiative.”

The project has already secured early support from Woodhall Spa Parish Council and is actively engaging with local schools, the Scouts, community gardeners and other businesses to widen participation across all ages.

Regular volunteer meetings continue to attract strong attendances, demonstrating the enthusiasm building across the village.

With judging for East Midlands In Bloom scheduled for early July, focus is now on spring planting in key locations, building volunteer teams and ensuring the judging route showcases not just floral displays but also the story of collaboration and environmental responsibility behind them.
