Epworth man wins Smart TV

From October to December 2014 people were invited to take part in a prize draw if they recycled their old electrical items at any of the council’s eight sites – including at Belton.

Those who did could, in return, ask for a draw ticket to enter the draw, and be in with a chance of winning an electrical prize.

There were five prizes up for grabs with first place winner being Mr Boorman from Epworth who won a Smart television worth around £600

The prizes were donated by REPIC, the council’s approved contractor for electrical waste.

The idea was to promote the recycling of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment such as televisions, washing machines, toasters, kettles, torches and mobile phones.

Councillor Nigel Sherwood, cabinet member for highways and neighbourhoods, said: “Thank you to everyone who has taken part and congratulations to the winners. REPIC has donated some fantastic prizes to help support our campaign to increase the amount of small electrical items being recycled.

“We urge residents to carry on with their recycling though and to take their unwanted electrical items to their local Household Recycling Centre.”

“We also provide a whole range of other recycling opportunities at our HRCs to enable residents to dispose of their waste. We must ensure that we recycle as much as possible and do our bit for the environment.”

As we know, WEEE is one of the fastest growing waste streams and everyone has a part to play in responsible recycling and initiatives such as North Lincolnshire’s are a great way to engage the general public.”
