'˜Gruel'ling time at Tealby School

You may think this look likes an image from the distant past, but you would be wrong.

The picture actually appeared in the Market Rasen Mail of 35 years ago - 1981.

It was taken at Tealby Memorial Hall, where Tealby School was presenting a selection of songs from the musical Oliver!

Such was the success of the three performances, it was the audience who kept asking for more.

Pictured above are the workhouse boys, suitable dressed in rags, who were first on stage to sing Food, Glorious Food.

Teacher Robert Glozier played the role of Mr Bumble and Oliver was played by John Battle.
